5. EMPLOY INTERIM TREASURER

Approve an employment contract between the Board and Jennifer Hedrick as Interim Treasurer of the Tiffin City School District for a period commencing on August 1, 2024, not to exceed 100 work days, with all terms as negotiated.

Minutes

Two treasurer candidates were interviewed, but not chosen.  The board will have representatives of K12 and NCOESC inform the candidates the board will go in a different direction.  The board intends to employ Mrs. Jennifer Hedrick as interim treasurer while they conduct a search for a permanent treasurer.

6. BOARD DISCUSSION

Treasurer Search

Minutes

Options to assist the board in finding a treasurer include OSBA, K12, and NCOESC.  Mr. Williams said he was not unhappy with the services NCOESC could provide.  Mr. Perez thanked Mr. Kisabeth for conducting interviews.  The consensus of the board was they need to use a firm that will headhunt the best candidate.  Mrs. Stephey suggested the board do a cost vs. benefit analysis of each scenario.  Mr. Nadeau noted K12 specializes in searches.  Mr. Williams and Mr. Nadeau agreed they would have an agreement with K12 ready for the 8/5/2024 special board meeting.

IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the TIFFIN CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION, SENECA COUNTY, OHIO, to adopt any appropriation measure, make any qualifying contract, or increase during any school year any wage or salary schedule shown above, has in effect the authorization to levy taxes including the renewal or replacement of existing levies which, when combined with the estimated revenue from all other sources available to the district at the time of certification, are sufficient to provide the operating revenues necessary to enable the district to maintain all personnel and programs for all the days set forth in its adopted school calendars for the current fiscal year and for a number of days in succeeding fiscal years equal to the number of days instruction was held or is scheduled for the current fiscal year, as required by Section 5705.412.
